Important Update: Changes to Licensure Pathways with the PEICPT
The Prince Edward Island College of Physiotherapy (PEICPT) is announcing the conclusion of the Alternate Plan process for licensure, effective May 1, 2026.
As of this date, applicants seeking licensure with the PEICPT will be required to successfully complete the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination (CPTE) administered by the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR).
Welcome to the official website of Prince Edward Island College of Physiotherapy (PEICPT, the College). The site is intended for the College members and potential members, and the general public.
Every physiotherapist who wants to get a licence to practice physiotherapy in the province of Prince Edward Island must be registered with the College. The regular licence is renewed annually, provided that the registered physiotherapist meets mandatory requirements and follows the practice standards and guidelines. Physiotherapists who are visiting PEI can get temporary licences if they meet the requirements.
